NORWICH (THORPE) GREYHOUND STADIUM

The city of Norwich, in Norfolk, has had 4 greyhound tracks in the past with the one at Thorpe, East of the city, being situated at 1° 16' E 52° 39' N. It raced under official rules and first opened on 17th June 1933.

The track was thought to be owned by George Carey (sometimes spelt Cary) and was always known locally as Cary's Meadow, but other sources state that the land on which the track was built was owned by Walter Cary.
